Waldotok is a chat application which enables a user to discover nearby friends to allow private communication and data transfer. Users needn’t have internet access or be connected to a wifi network to be able to communicate with one another. Use cases for this include things like a flight or international travel, when a phone may be in airplane mode or without a data plan. Additionally, Waldotok could be used to help aid staying in touch with/finding friends at crowded venues like concerts or sporting events, when the internet access slows to a crawl…

Waldotok is built off of the Multipeer Connectivity framework, which enables device-to-device communication using Bonjour protocols via use of the devices’ wifi and bluetooth antennae. It is a Bloc coursework project built with the intention of eventual feature expansion and submission to the App Store.
